What is Wind Chill?

Wind chill refers to how the combination of wind and cold temperatures feels on exposed skin, particularly on the uncovered face of someone about 5 feet tall. The National Weather Service (NWS) calculates wind chill using a simple formula: multiply the wind speed by 0.7, then subtract that value from the air temperature.
